For me eating of the forbidden fruit represent the transition from living in an instinctive unconscious way like animals do, to living in a fully conscious way distinctive of human beings. Lucifer is the one who brings enlightenment, however this is not always a good thing. Enlightened people can do good, but they can also use their superior knowledge for selfish purposes that harm others. Thus I think of Lucifer as a morally neutral god who can be very helpful , but also very dangerous. |
